Once in a while, one plus one DOES equal more than two. In the case of these two Shelter Island homes, built
by the same architect in the early 80’s, this is surely the case. When Imagine Design purchased these adjacent
properties, they were in need of a new outlook.
The first order of business, extensive landscaping to insure more privacy, and new deck and patio areas looking
out on the Peconic Bay. Inside, the pine board interiors were white-washed for a cleaner, softer look. Interior spaces
were opened up for a more airy, modern feel. Bathrooms were redesigned, using glass and tumbled stone, and a
soft palette of seaside blues and greens. New windows, sliding glass doors and heated gunite pools complete the
makeover in a way consistent with the Imagine Design philosophy: bringing the best of the past to today’s families.
